Obituary of Cheryl Ann Shover

Please share a memory of Cheryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On March 28, 2017, beloved mother and wife, Cheryl (Shosted) Shover, returned home at the age of 58 in body, but 28 in heart and soul. Born to Vern and Charlene Shosted on May 23, 1958, Cheryl grew up in Lake Point, Utah. After many years in Lake Point, she later moved to Magna, UT, where she resided with her husband until 2006, when they both moved to their dream retirement home in Duchesne, Utah. An avid lover of animals and the outdoors, Cheryl enjoyed going on long walks around her property in Duchesne with her three dogs, grandchildren, and friends by her side. Often times, she would search for arrowheads, stones, and other artifacts on her journeys, greatly enjoying the thrill of finding these ancient treasures and oddities. Cheryl would share stories of these adventures with all around her, conveying the delight she experiences in stumbling across such amazing finds within the great beauty of nature that she was surrounded with during the years of her retirement. Cheryl was a collector of a great many things, from Hummel figurines and gemstones, to other things that most could consider junk; she always found beauty and a story in any item that she came across, and was often excited at the prospects of the past of an object, as well as whatever future it may still have. She shared this eternal youthful exuberance with her children and grandchildren, forever allowing her spirit to live within them. Beyond this, Cheryl was a caring, generous soul; donating a great deal of time before her retirement to assisting at Deseret Industries, the Salvation Army, and Goodwill. She spent many hours at the assisted living center where her mother resided, talking to other residents and assisting the staff in any way that she could. She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Amanda (Ron) Gladden; son, Ron Brouillette; three grandchildren, Jonathin Gladden, Jaydin Gladden, and Rhonnie Gladden; sister, Kathleen Shosted; sister, Nanci Jensen; and brother, Robert (Penny) Shosted. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; her younger brother, Russel Shosted; grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and her dearest, forever friend, Clarice Gollaher. In lieu of traditional funerary services, a memorial (no food services) will be held in her memory behind the Lake Point church located at 1366 Canyon Rd from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on April 6 for all those who knew her to attend and join in for a happy remembrance and celebration of Cheryl’s remarkable life and spirit; to not mourn in her passing, but to find glory in the time that she was here; and to share cherished memories of a magnificent woman with a heart so big, God wouldn’t let it live.
