Janet Eileen (Bowyer) Hawkins

Apr 11, 1945 – Apr 26, 2025

Born to Robert and Cleo (Payne) Bowyer on April 11, 1945. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before being called home to our Father in Heaven she recalled many stories and one that she cherished most was walking as a little girl with her grandfather holding his finger. Janet continued her life and graduated from Olympus High School. Shortly after marrying the love of her life Rockey Hawkins on August 7, 1963 at the age of 18 in the Episcopal church. While married to Rockey she furthered her education in the medical field not only to help support her family’s needs but also for the love of helping others.

Later in life, Janet received The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints discussions and was baptized. After her baptism, her faith and love for our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus grew, and the couple were sealed in the Holy Temple for all time and eternity. This was only the beginning of their happiness together.

Janet loved nature and the great outdoors. As a family she took many camping trips through Utah with their 5 sons. Towards the end of her life, she loved visiting Fruitland, Utah. This area in Utah like Bear Lake holds special memories from her life.

Most that met Janet would say she had a special and kind spirit. She had a love for everyone and would pass on her love of Christ to all.

Janet is proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Cleo (Payne) Bowyer and Joshua Hawkins (grandson/son of Michael)

Survived by her husband Rockey Hawkins of 61 years and their 5 sons.

Michael (Wendy), Mark, David (Jo Ann), John (Heather), James (Deanna), 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild (to be born)

1050 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah.
