Rockey L. Hawkins

March 8, 1940 – June 9, 2025

Born to Eugene and Effie (Labram) Hawkins on March 8, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rockey attended Murray High School, where he participated in many sports, including football, track, basketball, and swimming. After high school he went through basic training and served at Fort Benning, Georgia.

He married his sweetheart, Janet Eileen (Bowyer) Hawkins August 7, 1963, at the episcopal church. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple, for all time and eternity.

Rockey passed on his love for fishing and camping in the great outdoors to his five sons. He took his family on many trips throughout Utah. Later in life, he spent most of his time outside gardening, growing vegetables in raised garden boxes, he had built himself.

Rockey had a very contagious laugh. He easily made friends with people he encountered. If you didn't already know him, you would quickly become acquainted with his congenial personality.

Survived by his five sons. Michael (Wendy), Mark, David (Jo Ann), John (Heather), James (Deanna), 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild (to be born)
