Gaylen Earl Allmond Obituary

Gaylen Earl Allmond, 56 of Taylorsville, Utah passed away with dignity and respect on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City, Friday, November 22, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Dawn Turner Allmond, his father Jacob “Jake” Earl Allmond, and his half-brother Kevin Ryver.

Gaylen and Anne met in Colorado in March 2012. On August 24, 2019, Gaylen married his wife Anne Louise Jennelle in a beautiful backyard ceremony among family and friends. He was a caring, devoted, and loving husband.

To say Gaylen loved golf is an understatement. He lived, breathed, and played the sport with his best friend, his father, Jake. They played in numerous local and out-of-state golf tournaments. He had many other interests that he was passionate about including listening to country music, watching NASCAR and Formula 1 Racing, following college football – Go Utes! professional football, playing fantasy football, as well as following the Utah and Avalanche Hockey teams.

Gaylen worked in many industries: hospitality – Cinegrill Restaurant, UT; Leprechaun Inn, UT and Rock Rest Lodge Bar and Grill, CO; golfing – Meadow Brook Golf Course, UT; facilities management – University of Utah; and the landscaping industry (including snow removal) – Brightview, The Brickman Group, and Valley Crest in CO.

Gaylen closed out his career working in the Parks and Recreation Department for Salt Lake County, starting out as an Irrigation/Plumber Specialist and later promoted to Area Maintenance Supervisor. He worked there from March 2016 through January 2025. He loved the challenge when it came to keeping his parks lush, healthy, and green. He always said, “The roots would reach for the water.” In the winter months, he managed a crew who assisted in the snow removal process known as the “Salters”.

Gaylen is survived by his wife Anne; maternal half-siblings: Von (Nileen) Whitlock Panama City, FL; Cindy Rogers Salt Lake City, UT; Bobby (Donna) Rogers Magna, UT; Brent Rogers Murray, UT; Rodney Rogers Salt Lake City, UT; niece Haley (Matthew) Klinger-Laird Magna, UT; nephew Ian Rogers Salt Lake City, UT; great nieces: Luna and Joy Klinger; paternal half-siblings: Clifford Allmond New Summer Field, TX; niece Nikki Allmond Saratoga, CA; niece Stacey Allmond Los Banos, CA; nephew Clifford Grant Allmond Salem, OR; Gale (Michael) Beckman Hanford, OK; nephew Nathan Beckman Hanford, OK; nephew Matthew Beckman Hanford, OK; niece Amy Beckman Enis Hanford, OK; cousins, aunts, and uncles; Myles Saylor, his colleague and good friend; family of neighbors; wide circle of friends; his Salt Lake County coworkers, especially those in the Parks and Recreation Department.
