Karen Sue Woolsey Obituary
Karen Sue Woolsey (née Fortney), born May 23, 1941, lived life with beauty, humor, and a touch of sparkle, passed peacefully, on April 29th 2026.
She loved horses, the outdoors, and soaking up the sunshine, and she never passed up rhinestones with an outfit—or a perfectly timed curse word in conversation. Her wit was sharp, her mind even sharper, and her love for her family ran deep.
Karen married Lee Woolsey on September 21, 1970, and together they built a life full of love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and her son, Brian. She leaves behind her children, Jerry, Alison, and Keri; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Amy, Tyson, Miranda, and Mackenzie; and her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Berkly, Evie, Tucker, Ivee, and Stasia, who will carry her spirit forward.
Karen will be remembered for the way she made ordinary moments unforgettable, whether it was time spent camping with family, a mischievous moment that turned into a story retold for years, or sitting in the sun with a drink in hand, effortlessly drawing smiles from everyone around her. She brought laughter, honesty, and a little bit of edge wherever she went.
She was fiercely loved and will be deeply missed. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her strength, and the way she made life feel a little more honest and a lot more real.
