Milne Thomas "Mel" Crouch Obituary
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Milne Thomas Crouch, affectionately known as “Mel,” who left us too soon on May 13, 2026.
Mel was a cherished husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather whose presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Born on December 21, 1956, to Ken and Annie Crouch, Mel spent his early years in Bountiful, later moving to Cottonwood Heights. There, he attended Brighton High School and fondly reminisced about his time at chess and debate tournaments and his adventures in the outdoor club.
Mel's teenage summers were filled with joy and adventure at Flaming Gorge Lodge, where he spent his days “working” by leading trail rides, fishing, and hiking. He often delighted in recounting stories of those days, especially the indulgence of pie and ice cream for breakfast, which became a cherished memory.
A man of many passions, Mel's love for his family was boundless. He also adored his loyal dog, Chewy, and found peace in the great outdoors, whether camping, fly fishing, or running the river at Flaming Gorge. His love for music was equally profound, with Bob Seger, Little Big Town, and Moody Blues being among his favorites.
Mel is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Sherrie, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. His legacy lives on through his seven children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Andy. Mel’s warmth, humor, and zest for life touched everyone he met, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. May he rest in peace.
