It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Valerie Jean Petersen, who passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by her family.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Kathleen Morton, and her sister, Patricia Morton.

Valerie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Scott Petersen; her children, Jeff (Courtney) Morton, Katie (Clay) Zak, Kellie (Nate) Petersen, and Sean (Kenzie) Petersen; her five grandchildren, McKenna, Jayden, Jaxson, Cole, and Mia; her brothers, Glenn (Cynthia) Morton, Richard Morton, and William Morton; and her two loving dogs, Beau and Maggie.

Valerie will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
