Our Employees

Independent Professional Services is a family owned business. The company was founded by Gerald Newlon over 30 years ago and continues to be run by his sons, Gregory and Geoffrey Newlon. 

Our Company

Independent Professional Services was originally a mortuary transportation service that was purchased in 1984. I.P.S. continued to hold an annually renewed transportation contract for 28 years with the Utah State Medical Examiner from 1984 to 2012. In 1987, I.P.S. expanded and moved into it's new building on Redwood Road and began offering cremation services. Today, our company continues to provide cremation and funeral services for families who have lost loved ones, along with transportation services for the University of Utah Body Donor Program.
