Obituary of Darrin Troy Smith

Darrin Troy Smith, age 42, passed away at Jordan Valley Hospital surrounded by family in West Jordan, Utah, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, after he lost his battle with heart failure.
Born on September 6, 1974 in Murray, Utah, he moved from house to house and state to state before settling in a wonderful home with his family in Kearns.  He put his family first but loved to spend his time working with cars.  Darrin was stubborn yet generous, sarcastic yet compassionate, but above all, he was a devoted family man.
Darrin is survived by his beautiful wife, Yevett and children, Leland, Jordan, Rylie, Carissa, Kami, Dalton, Kambree, Shyler, Kellie and by his brothers Raymond Smith and Douglas Petty. Darrin will receive a warm welcome on the other side from his parents, Eddy Rae Smith and Gaylynn Broderick Birkeland.
Don’t grieve for Darrin, for now he’s free.  He’s following God’s path so it must be.  God took his hand when he heard the call, he turned his back and left us all.  He could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play.  Though his parting has left a void, we must fill it with remembered joy.  A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, these things we too will all miss.  Be not burdened with times of sorrow, he would wish for the sunshine of tomorrow.  His life’s been full, he savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.  Perhaps his time seemed all too brief.  Lift up your heart and share your grief.  God led him home and set him free.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up to help support the family with medical and funeral expenses.
