Obituary of Madalyn Viola Engel

Madalyn Viola Engel passed away peacefully on September 4, 2017. She was born October 22, 1926 in Kansas City Missouri to parents Viola and William O. Campbell and is survived by her two sisters Patricia and Barbara as well as her two sons Fred and Glenn. She was preceeded in death by her son Larry Thomas Engel and husband Charles Norman Engel. She had 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Viola worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years and after retiring volunteered as a long-term care ombudsman. In 2003 she received the Governeror's Point of Light Award and in 2004 she received a National Points of Light award for her service.
Viola loved to camp and travel and enjoyed many hobbies over the years varying from rock collecting to knitting, beading, and singing.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday September 7th at Highland Cove Retirement Center in the Hotel Club Room.
