Obituary of Wendy Barlow McNatt
A beautiful, artistic, unique soul has left this world too soon. Wendy Barlow McNatt (53) was born on October 4, 1965 in Bellflower, CA, to Gary W. and Patricia Woolsey Barlow. She passed away on October 16, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wendy grew up in Layton, the oldest of ten children, and was always energetic and fun to be around. She graduated from Layton High School in 1983, where she was involved in yearbook staff and dance company. Wendy learned to play the piano when she was young and always liked sitting at her baby grand. She attended Weber State College and Westminster College. Later, she earned her license in massage therapy and enjoyed teaching classes and helping her clients for many years. After retiring from massage, Wendy worked at the Salt Lake County Jail. She met Jeffrey McNatt in 1990. They were together for 28 years and were season ticket holders to Ballet West. They married December 21, 2002 at the Capitol Theatre, before the annual performance of “The Nutcracker,” which they attended every year. She was a kind, funny, and generous aunt and loved joking around with her many nieces and nephews. Wendy loved animals and took good care of her pet children. Our wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend will be unbearably missed; her family and friends will miss her honest, witty personality and her sincere caring and kindness to those she loved. She is survived by her husband Jeff, her parents Gary & Pat, her siblings Annemarie, Brett (Deanne), Julie, Stephanie, Rebecca Dial, Matthew (Marlow), Emily (Jim) Garza, Rachael, and Christopher (Jenny), and her 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Jezebel, her potbelly pig, and her dogs Porthos, Edgar, Lola, and Albert. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the LDS church on 445 E Harvard Ave, Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Humane Society of Utah or to the Utah Suicide Prevention Coalition.
