Obituary of June McRae Lambert

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
June 24, 1924 – August 13, 2020 Our loving June McRae Lambert passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on June 24th, 1924 in Granger, Utah as one of seven children to Orson David McRae and Hazel Murphy McRae. She was married to James Lawrence Lambert on March 2, 1943, in the Salt Lake City Temple. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was also pre-deceased by her parents and six siblings, Orson Mark, Hazel Roene, Daniel Claude, Karl Mackay, Annabell and Grace. June lived a long active life of 96 years, sharing her talents and enjoying her life to the fullest. She expressed her talents and accomplishments as a teenager in 4-H, winning a trip to Chicago at the age of 17, and was awarded the first “clothing achievement” girl in Utah. She was active in the LDS church, serving in may capacities, and was also active in the community and social groups in Blackfoot, Idaho and later with the Salt Lake County and Utah State Fairs. She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline’s and a fun quartet “The Up ‘N Atoms.” She loved gardening, cooking and canning-and was especially proud of her fudge, penuche and caramels, which were always available at every gathering! She loved traveling extensively with friends and family, and visited most every part of the world, however her passion had to be traveling to Asia and shopping in Hong Kong. She loved staying busy and was proud to work in the fabric department of Walmart from the age of 70 until 87. Her greatest joys in later years were her family and watching the Utah Jazz! She lovingly enjoyed being the matriarch and attending to an extended family of great and great-great grandchildren and enjoyed hosting every holiday event. June is survived by her children Dianne Fishburn, David (and Gayle) Lambert, Ladd Lambert, Rod (and Karen) Lambert, Bart (and Marcia) Lambert, and 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. June was proud of a wonderful and strong family lineage and she kept immaculate records, genealogy, and an accounting of her life for her family to cherish. She will be deeply missed by everyone that her life touched. We will always be thankful for her generosity and love. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, June will be interred with her husband in Idaho Falls, Idaho in the near future. The family will honor her with a memorial at a later date.
