Obituary of Dorothy Ann Kroon

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy Ann Kroon, age 63, of Salt Lake City, UT, beloved Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Friend returned to our heavenly father December 20th, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Dorothy was born August 5th, 1957 to Dick Kroon and Marian Schaefer in Salt Lake City, UT. Dorothy was born in Utah, moved to Iowa for some time and then returned to Utah. Dorothy had a difficult childhood, but those experiences shaped her into the most beautiful soul that anyone could ask for. Dorothy had a son Sean. He was a beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed boy that she loved dearly. Our Aunt had many passions and hobbies that always kept her busy. She had a love for bears, painting ceramics, building miniature houses that were fully furnished, watching NHRA racing, fly fishing, sewing clothes or quilts, crocheting, gardening, rafting down rivers in Heber and weekly coffee visits with her father. Dorothy was in the construction trucking industry for 36 years and had recently retired. One of her favorite achievements was being involved with the 2002 Olympics. Because of her CDL, she was able to transport the Olympic athletes and helped clear our roads of snow. Countless camping and fishing trips come to mind with fond memories of Dorothy. When purchasing her home in Salt Lake, we had many conversations of all the things that we could and should do. This lasted up to her final days. She was so proud of her home. Countless hours were put in by her nieces getting Dorothy’s yard and home just right. That quality time with her will always be treasured. She loved being able to do DIY projects, phenomenal yard work and having extra room for her nieces to have days and sometimes weeks of sleepovers. Anything that Dorothy committed to, she gave it her all. She was amazing with all her crafts, from the finest detail of painting ceramics to every stitch of her sewing. When she would put her mind to it, she achieved it. Dorothy was more than an Aunt or Motherly Figure she was an Inspiration. With knowledge of her past and memories of her life events and lessons learned, she taught us that we could do anything! If she could do it, we could too. Dorothy was one of the strongest and most independent women that we have ever known. Her unconditional love for family and friends made you feel blessed that she was in your life. With memories and stories, the laughter from those experiences can still be heard. We are sure Dorothy is loving the hugs from her Dad and Ron and catching up with them in heaven. Dorothy is survived by Brother Jim, Nephew Kyle, Nieces Suzanne (Spencer), Gloria and two Grandsons Bryson and Korver. She is preceded in death by her Father Dick, Mother Marian, Stepmother Afton, Brother Ronald and other family members and friends. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. We love you more than you will ever know. Until we are together again, please watch over and guide us. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, there is an account at Mountain America Credit Union under Suzanne Evans account number ending 8591 to help cover Dorothy’s final expenses. Thank you to the Doctors and staff at IMC Hospital in Murray. They were exceptional and did everything in their power to take care of Dorothy. As I sit in heaven As I sit in heaven And watch you everyday I try to let you know with signs I never went away I hear you when you’re laughing And watch you as you sleep I even place my arms around you To calm you as you weep I see you wish the days away Begging to have me home So I try to send you signs So you know you are not alone Don’t feel guilty that you have Life that was denied to me Heaven is truly beautiful Just you wait and see So live your life, laugh again Enjoy yourself, be free Then I know with every breath you take You’ll be taking one for me…
