Sunrise: August 18, 1965 ~ Sunset: October 31, 2016
Cary Brian Charron, 51, a long-time resident of Murray, UT, passed away on Monday October 31st, 2016. He was born August 18th, 1965, to Harold and Shirlee Charon. He graduated from Murray High School in 1983.
Cary met the love of his life, Zachary De Jong, in 2000. They shared sixteen wonderful years together, living life to the fullest, including annual trips to Kauai, Hawaii where they cliff-jumped, hiked and explored every corner of the island. Cary's love for Zach was deep and unconditional, and he was elated when they were engaged this past August.
Cary will always be remembered for his big heart and passion for life. Cary saw the good in everyone - whether family, friends, clients, or strangers -- and shared his love generously. He also had a special connection with children, as he was able to share their innocent joy of the everyday world.
Cary had a life-long passion for music. He was the lead in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Hale Center Theater, Murray Arts in the Park and the Grand Theater. He also hosted the Miss Murray Scholarship Pageant for nineteen years. Cary encouraged everyone to sing with him and was complimentary to all, no matter their level of musical talent or ability. He wanted everyone to experience the joy and peace that music had always brought to him.
Cary is predeceased by his mother, Shirlee Charon. Cary and his mother had a very special bond; she was his number one supporter. He greatly missed her presence this past five years, and we are grateful they are together again.
Cary is survived by his fiancé, Zachary Kelly De Jong; and his father, Harold B. Charon. He is also survived by Brad and Kathleen Charon (children Shylene and Lucas); Cindy and Lindy Johnston (children Jennifer, Dallin, Justin, Amanda and Jeff); John and Janet De Jong; Sarah and William Robinson (children Kadynce, Londyn and Liam); Timothy and CariAnn De Jong; and two of Cary's and Zachary's best friends, their dogs, Thomas and Libby.
