Obituary of Grant Larsen Zaharias

Grant Larsen Zaharias passed away on April 19, 2021 of respiratory failure. He was born on May 26, 1964.
Grant grew up in Utah. Later moving to Helena, Montana with his job. He returned to Utah for a few years before moving to Illinois where he resided up until 2013. He then came back to Utah where he loved the mountains. He resided in Tooele at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Joyce Studham Lund Zaharias, his nephew Kurtis Humphrey. He is survived by his children a son Charles Thomas Zaharias 11, daughter Paula Grace Zaharias 11. His ex-wife the mother of his children Theodosia (Thea) Hatter of Aurora, IL.
Grant worked in maintenance through out most of his life. He started at Shopko in West Valley City, Utah where he was later promoted to Maintenance Manager and they transferred him up to Helena, Montana where he helped open the new Shopko. He worked there for many years. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Helena Volunteer Firefighters. He later went on to study and earn his GED while living in Illinois. He loved working on cars and fixed a few family members especially his mother in law Connie Hatter's. That was one of his proudest moments was working on her vehicles.
He is also survived by his father Grant Lund, stepparents Jeannie Lund and Delynn Zaharias, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews as well as his many friends.
He loved the mountains, motorcycles and hot rods. More than anything he loved his children.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date by his family.
Donations for his young children can be made to the Grant L. Zaharias memorial fund at American First Credit Union.
