Obituary of Mark David Randall

Mark David Randall, 67 of Sandy; husband, father and grandfather, passed away Saturday Nov 20 at home after 3.5 years after being diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer. His family and others who knew him are grateful he was part of their lives and miss him dearly. Mark was born in Richland WA, to Starr and Elsie (Mortenson) Randall on Sept 16 1954. After completing high school in Colorado Springs CO. Mark moved to Greeley CO to attend University of Northern Colorado. While there he met and married Cynthia Wheeler. The couple have two children, daughter Michelle and son Jared. Mark moved the family to Salt Lake City where he established several small businesses the most successful was with his brother Kerry, organizing consumer food shows throughout the US. Mark was an avid fisherman, he also enjoyed camping with his family and traveling with his wife. In recent years Mark took up backpacking, rock climbing and mountain biking. He was especially proud that he could out preform many of the younger bicyclists. Mark was known for his hard work and attention to details and for being very frugal. He taught himself and children to do many home and auto repairs. Mark is survived by his mother Elsie Davis of Hurricane UT, brothers Keith (Diana) Randall of Murrieta CA and Christopher Randall of Salt Lake City UT, wife Cindy of Sandy, daughter Michelle Randall of Salt Lake City UT, son Jared (Jaime) Randall of Magna UT and grandchildren Trinity, Benjamin , Jared Jr and Necia Randall. Mark was preceded in death by his father Starr Randall, sister Tamera and brother Kerry. In keeping with his frugal nature Mark requested to be cremated. A memorial will be held Dec 4 at 11am at the Cameo Park Chapel 8945 South 1700 East Sandy UT. The family expresses their gratitude to the many friends who supported them through this difficult time and to Bristol Hospice for their tender care of Mark and his family during his last days.
