Obituary of Elvia Fernandez

On December 3, 2021 Elvia “Chaplina”, “Abuelita”, “Mima” Fernandez, loving grandmother, great grandmother, and mother passed away at the age of 88. Abuelita was born on October 18, 1933 in Cuenca, Ecuador. She will be truly missed and loved by her entire family. Abuelita always knew how to light up a room with her Wisdom, her Poetry, her Songs and her jokes. She was a Boss, a Hustler, a true business woman. Also a selfless woman who helped anyone that asked her or needed it. Even if it meant that she would end up with nothing. She always made sure we were taken care of. A roof over our head, clothes on our backs and food on the table, even if we didn’t like it. We will forever appreciate everything you did for us “Chaplina”, “Abuelita”, “Mima”. Abuelita is survived by Ex-husband Caretaker Fernando Fernandez (Fernando Fernandez Gonzalez), Children Anna (Vincent) Maldonado, Julie (Emilio) Moreno, her grandchildren Luis Moreno, Danny Moreno, Patricia (Collet) with their son Geovanni Maldonado , Jacklyn Maldonado with her daughter Lexy Samaniego her great grandchildren (Dominick, Ezrael) , Bryan (Kim) Maldonado, Pierre Maldonado, Adrian Maldonado. Elvia “Mima and Fernando “Pipo” fostered and adopted 5 children who are Richard (Cenee) Fernandez, Luisiana (Fredy) Carrasco, Elvia (Alfredo) Saucedo, Juliana (Benny) Wolfchild, Fernando (Tiffany) Fernandez, and with 23 beautiful great grandchildren. Through these hard times we know that she is in heaven, where she joined her Father, Mother and siblings. Her saying in life was “don’t cry and remember everything I taught you.
