Obituary of Troy Edward Council

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Troy Edward Council who passed away from complications of Covid on December 23rd in his home. There was no shortage of creativity that flowed from his hands and the beauty of his voice was one of a kind. There was a calmness that came from his speaking voice and when he sang and taught his daughters to sing there was so much magic held there time stood still. He always said to keep a song in your heart and didn’t have a problem bursting out into song in the middle of the grocery store. Troy was an Entrepreneur his whole life owning Dr. Woodgrain and Design turning plain surfaces into works of art with his faux painting. He was a master of his craft and created tools to help create his visions. He enjoyed leaving his customers in a place of delight and wonder. He loved to entertain his family and friends at pool parities and maybe a little karaoke in his music studio. Even if someone didn’t sing Troy would always encourage them and make them feel comfortable to belt out their favorite song with him nodding encouragement to even to worst singer. People were quick to laugh around him and it was not hard to smile as he always had a flair for the dramatics and it has been said Jim Carrey stole his bit. People gravitated to him for his endless charisma and charm. Troy was born to parents Mary Edna Council and Harold Edward Council, on January 30, 1955 in Port Hueneme California. He is survived by his partner Tho Pham, daughters Josette Knight (Mike), Coreena Council, ex-wife and friend Belinda Lafeen Heise, grandchild Ashlyn Knight, sister Patricia Council (Murphy), brother William Council, sister-in-law and friend Joan Council and many many friends who became just as much family who will miss him. No services will be held at this time but a celebration of life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers please contact a loved one or friend and let them know they are important to you.
