Obituary of Chasity Shellie Peterson

Chasity Shellie Peterson July 18th, 1972 – May 6th, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our beautiful, beloved little sister, aunt and great aunt at the young age of 50. Shellie has returned to our heavenly father, which she loved so dearly. Shellie passed away suddenly after a short battle with Metastatic Uterine Cancer on May 6th, 2023. A beautiful, cherished daughter was born on July 18th, 1972 to her parents Morris and Florence Peterson. Shellie adored Mickey Mouse, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Dua Lipa, Elvis and living life to the fullest!! She could dance like no other and her smile was so intoxicating…. She loved Halloween and would go out of her way to decorate her whole home with the countless decorations she collected throughout the years. She always encouraged her family and friends to do the same to be in the spirit of Halloween as she would say. She worked vigorously to become the best Truck Driver and she was the best!!! I often teased her that she wasn’t driver of the year every year!! She was an avid fisherman/women who loved the outdoors especially camping with her friends Jenny, Melanie and Misty and Tisha amongst the countless others she treasured… She was another mother to her Niece and Nephew Enishia and Xavier, respectively who loved her dearly and who will miss her tremendously. She also enjoyed watching her great nieces excel playing softball. We have lost the LIGHT in our lives that always made us happy and smile, whether it was decorating our bedrooms/homes for our birthdays to celebrate us or just being all sorts of FUN to be around, no matter what the occasion. Heaven truly gained an Angel; we only hope and pray that we can try and carry on and remember and continue her traditions in her remembrance. I love you more than you’ll ever know Shellie and I am not sure what I will do without you, but knowing you are no longer in pain, and you are free and smiling down on us feels my heart. Until we meet again, Sister… I want to recognize and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for my little sister, including opening your homes, supporting her thru losing her hair (cutting your hair off to show support), showing her love that she endured…. Thank you and bless you Jenny Wood, Melanie Garcia and family and Tisha Littlewood and family. And the many others that were there for my sister you don’t realize how you impacted her life…. My the lord bless you all….. Preceded in death by his father Morris, stepfather Hal, brother Shane and grandparents Ralph and Rose Ortiz. And her precious fur babies Budha and Cai… Survived by her mother Florence and her sister Kerrie (Robert). Her niece Enishia (Ruben) and nephew Xavier and great nieces Kanani, Kimani, Khloe, Klarity and nephew Noah Xavier. A Celebration of Life will be held: Tuesday, May 30th at 1:30pm – 4:30pm Location: Sacred Light of Christ Church, 823 South 600 East, SLC, UT. After the church services we will gather at Liberty Park – Rice Pavilion (NE Corner of Park) to Enjoy a Meal in Shellie’s Honor and remanence on good memories of my beautiful sister. It will be a potluck please feel free (but not required) to bring a dish/drink/etc. and a memory to share with her family and friends.
