Obituary of Max Thompsen

Please share a memory of Max to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Max Thompsen was born on August 24th, 1975 and passed suddenly on May 28th, 2023. Max is survived by his son and best buddy Ethan, his wife Tamara, Stepson, Jacob, Mother Joan, Father Robert, siblings Chris, David, Kiersten, Cherie and his best friend Chris Kenick. Max was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Gustaf and Lena Nordstrom and N-Maxwell and Virginia Thompsen. Max also leaves behind countless friends and co-workers who he considered his second family. His work family referred to him as “Google Max” because he had a knowledge base that truly rivaled Google. He was so smart and effortlessly funny. Max’s greatest joy was being a Dad to Ethan and Step Father to Jacob. Max had a kind heart and was the guy who didn’t try to be the life of every party, but ultimately was. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, his intellectual wit and ability to stay calm in any storm. A Celebration of Life reception will be held for Max at Joan and Robert’s house Saturday, June 10th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at 2284 East 7160 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly and graciously requests that donations be made to Venmo @Tamara-Kenick in Max’s Memory. Please do not feel obligated to donate. Max would just be happy to know you were thinking of him.
