Obituary of Allen Wehunt

Please share a memory of Allen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Wehunt, who left this world peacefully on May 4, 2024. Allen was loved by his partner, Kelli Johnson Young, as well as by his children, grandchildren, sister, and friends. Born on November 1st, 1949 in Canton, Georgia, Allen lived a life filled with accomplishment, laughter, and growth. Known for his sense of humor, a seemingly endless ability to fix anything, and a love of stuffed animals; Allen touched the lives of everyone he met with a sincerity and intelligence as bright as his clear, blue eyes. Allen's accomplishments in life are many - but he will be most remembered as a man who served proudly in the Air National Guard in Vietnam, developed a successful career as an engineer, and worked hard to obtain and continue a life of sobriety. Allen is survived by his partner, Kelli Johnson Young; the mother of his children, Mary Frances Davis Wehunt; his children - Aaron (Sheryl) Wehunt, Matt (Shannon) Wehunt, Melissa W. Wayman, and John (Daphne) Wehunt. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren including, Amanda, Macy, Arielle, Carlie, Vivienne, and JJ Wehunt; as well as his sister, Linda Leonard and her two children (Jeremy & Jason), and his good friend, Ana Chidester. Allen will be reunited with his mother and father (Virginia and Carl Wehunt), his son-in-law (Matthew "Bud" Wayman), and his beloved dog, Lucky. At this time there are no services, however, close family and friends will be notified if a celebration of life is planned. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any cancer charity of your choosing. Allen holds a special place in our hearts and memories. May he rest in peace.
