Obituary of Angela Joy Montoya Cooper

Please share a memory of Angela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angela Joy Montoya Cooper, 38, Salt Lake City, was granted her angel wings on January 20, 2017. Angela was born in Salt Lake City to Joyce Fresquez and Gabriel Montoya on September 12, 1978. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that started from the day she was born. From the beginning it was apparent she had a mind of her own and was determined to do what she set her mind to do. At the age of 3 she was on her way to becoming the “STAR” she wanted to be. She started dancing with Rosalyn Korany who owned Thompson Lane Entertainment doing ballet, tap and jazz and had the opportunity to travel the country performing with them. She was also in three movies and in the TV Guide by the age of 6. She attended Olympus High School, graduating in 1997. She moved to San Francisco, California where she met her husband, Lee Cooper. They returned to Utah and were married and their family began in 1998 with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Destini Analee and a year later were blessed with their son Isaiah James. Lee and Angela were later divorced but did their best to be friends to raise their kids. In September of 2005 Angela gave birth to a handsome little boy who’s life was sadly taken two months later due to SIDS. Angela had a smile that lit up a room and a contagious laugh! She knew right away if someone was sad and hurting and would be right there to listen, give you a big hug then crack jokes till you smiled. For those reasons everyone wanted to be around her! Angela is survived by her children, Destini and Isaiah, her mother Joyce Fresquez, her brothers Anthony Edmond, Eddie Baroni, David Archuletta and Shane Pierce. She is survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews as well as many friends that loved spending time with her because we all knew it would be an adventure! Thank you, Kevin “Puck” Schmidt for being the support she needed when she did. She is preceded in death by her father Gabriel Montoya, both sets of grandparents and her son AJ. Angie you will be dearly missed by so many and as we all deal with the many emotions we will go through we know you will be our angel watching from up above. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Worldwide Gospel Church on 862 West 300 North, Salt Lake City, UT.
