Obituary of Vickie Lee Connelley
Vickie Lee Loveland Connelley 1947 ~ 2017
Vickie Lee Connelley joined her husband in heaven on February 18, 2017. She died at the University of Utah Medical Center after several unexpected complications from surgical procedures. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born 05 December 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Dewain Dyrious Loveland and Ruth Pearl Russell Loveland, both deceased. She married George Oliver Connelley on December 10, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She leaves behind her two children, daughter Cynthia Eskine (Scott), her son Dewain Connelley (Wendy), five wonderful grandchildren, Mark Connelley (Nicole), Mitch Connelley (Angela), Chelsie Lund (Talon), Sadie Larsen (Cody), and Maegan Baldwin (Dutch), and five beautiful great-granddaughters (Tierstan, Rylan, Payton, Paisley and Elliana) and four handsome great-grandsons (Mason, Kayden, Brody, and Colton). She also leaves behind one brother Rick Loveland (Julie), and one sister Nola Wayman (David), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by one brother, Dewain Miller. Vickie worked at Datatix, the Salt Palace ticketing Office, and finished her career with her sister, Nola, working at the ticketing office for the Utah Jazz basketball team. She loved life and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed making gifts for them such as slippers and pajamas, but most of all she made preserves. She made the best strawberry jam, red raspberry jam and apricot pineapple jam. Her fresh squeezed tomatoes were out of this world. She would bottle cherries, peaches and pears that would disappear as after school snacks. Her Christmas fudge was something everyone looked forward to (nuts or no nuts alike). In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of her life will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in her home. Vickie and George's ashes will be interned at Camp Williams in a private ceremony. All of her family would like to thank the University of Utah Medical Center for caring for her. She was generous and loving, and we were grateful for every precious moment we were able to share with her.
