Obituary of Karl Newell Holley

Karl Newell Holley, 85, passed away surrounded by family on November 9, 2021. He was born August 15, 1936 in Longview, Washington to Donald and Ada Leishman Holley. Karl graduated from Columbia High School in 1954. While serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern Mexico he opened the Oaxaca Mexico Mission. He obtained a Master of Accounting at BYU where he also met his wife Jean Farrimond. Karl and Jean were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple November 17, 1962. They lived in the Los Angeles area for 13 years and moved to Holladay, Utah where they lived for 45 years. Recently they relocated to St. George, Utah. He is survived by his wife Jean and would have celebrated their 59th anniversary in 8 days after he passed. Also survived by his children John (Diane), Marc (Heather), Eric (Soon-Bok), Jill (Matt Morgan), Bethe (Kyle Price), Scott (Paulina), daughter-in-law Gina Holley, brother Donald Holley and sister Kay Conley, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sons Todd and Joel. Friends and family are invited to attend memorial services at the Holladay 3rd Ward Chapel at 4568 South Holladay Blvd in Holladay, November 12th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, Karl would encourage you to enjoy ice cream with your loved ones. We invite you to share your memories of Karl on the tribute wall.
